Southbury (UPI)- After nearly two and a half years of inactivity, SNMFC.com, the official home of the Southern New Milford Football concern on the world wide web, has been updated.
The site was once an encyclopedia of pick-up football information, from player information to trash talk. At it's peak in the fall of October 2002, SNMFC.com hosted a bevy of information specific to Nuptial Nightmare II: The Green Mountain Massacre including a scouting report of the Middlebury team, a countdown timer, and an interactive message board.
Shawn Handyside redesigned the site in June of 2003, giving the SNMFC a more professional look and feel. However, a series of moves and commitments, including the wildly popular Staccato comic strip, prevented Handyside for further updating the site.
In the interim, Jeff Hoose and Brian Durand maintained an alternate site that kept the SNMFC alive on the web.
The new site, now designed and maintained by SNMFC stalwart Tom Marks has attempted to make several improvments to the former site. The most significant change is creating a permanent home for SNMFC Films, the premire pick-up football film studio. Now all SNMFC Films productions will be available in one place online. Other changes included the addition of a fixed countdown timer, and video clips of game action.
Over the next several months, Marks hopes to recover all the information from previous iterations of SNMFC websites. He also has plans to create an online store to sell SNMFC merchandise.
"This project is more about the journey than the destination," quipped Marks. "There's so much history here, I don't know if the site will ever be finished. We can only hope to provide the public with the most current and thorough information about pick-up football in Southern New Milford."
