Marks On The Mend
SNMFC Stoutheart Promises a "Full Recovery" From Pulled Hamstring
(SportsTicker) Southbury, CT - After feeling a pop in his hamstring in the waning moments of Jiblet Jam IX, Tom Marks had planned on at least four to six weeks without football activity. Less than two weeks later, he's not ruling himself out for Nuptial Nightmare IV.
"If the game was played today, I could go at about half-speed, which would still kick a lot of asses," said Marks, appearing with his wife Abi at an emotional press conference at the Hill and Plain Stadium in New Milford.
Marks said his hammy was "tight" for the first week, but it felt remarkably better over the past few days. The tightness has given way to a ghastly black-and-blue, that extends from the middle of his beefy thigh to the top of his bulging calf muscle.
Presuming the hamstring is back near full-strength in the next few days, Marks' availability would depend on when the game is actually played. He will not be medically cleared to make the trip to Sarasota before Saturday morning and NNIV is scheduled for Friday, the day after the bachelor party. However, Marks is banking on the players being so under the table from their carousing the night before, that the game may be postponed to Saturday.
NOTES: Jeff Hoose, who suffered a groin pull in Jiblet Jam IX, is also feeling much better. "Yeah, I got hurt," admitted Hoose, "But I'm not going to write a whole press release about it."...Chris Plank, who suffered through a hip injury, marriage, two bouts of the flu and serious gas has also made a full recovery.
